Community Engagement Manager (CEM) – Dîner en Noir Worldwide
Location: City-Specific (Hybrid – must reside in and be deeply connected to the host city)
Status: Independent Contractor (Leadership Track Role)
About Dîner en Noir
Dîner en Noir (DEN) is a global social enterprise and member-benefit professional networking organization operating across the U.S., Africa, & Europe. We design high-impact cultural experiences, curated gatherings, and economic-development initiatives that connect Black entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, and small businesses to opportunity, visibility, and capital.
Our work lives at the intersection of culture, commerce, and community. Through immersive events, strategic partnerships, and city-based leadership, DEN advances Black entrepreneurship, professional advancement, and cultural leadership while strengthening local business ecosystems and supporting nonprofits focused on arts programming, small-business development, and health and wellness in underserved communities.
Each city is led locally — because meaningful impact requires deep cultural understanding, trusted relationships, and solutions tailored to the economic realities of each community.
The Role
The Community Engagement Manager (CEM) is the senior, city-based leader responsible for growing, activating, and stewarding the Dîner en Noir community in their host city. This role is central to DEN’s local and global initiatives and offers the opportunity to lead with purpose, creativity, and measurable impact.
This is not a remote or entry-level position. The CEM must reside in the host city and be consistently present at events, partner meetings, and community engagement initiatives. As DEN’s public-facing representative locally, you will grow membership, produce exceptional experiences, and cultivate strategic partnerships while executing strategy in alignment with the national organization.
Deep knowledge of the city’s cultural dynamics, established relationships, and credibility within the local Black business and creative ecosystem are essential. Without these foundations, this role will not be a fit.
